The Beacon Pub & Eatery is recruiting for a mixture of full and part-time Prep & Line Cooks to join our kitchen team and become part of the team who work in Whistler’s best-loved local pub!
This is a great opportunity for people who has 2 years of professional kitchen experience, and you will have the opportunity to work within a dynamic and energetic team where development and career advancement is encouraged.
You will be expected to continually strive to exceed our customers’ expectations by preparing and presenting food in a timely, efficient and hygienic manner. Being a team player is essential, as you will be required to complete supervisory tasks in the absence of the Sous Chef/ Chef and this will involve aspects of managing the team, of which you will lead by example.
Within these roles, you will also be expected to prepare any food for the following day, where applicable and ensure compliance across the kitchen in regard to Food Safety which includes but not limited to training, temperature monitoring, cleaning schedules and weekly internal auditing. You will also provide support and assistance with the ordering and inventory of food.
The ideal candidate will have a positive work ethic and the drive to succeed! They must be able to make decisions quickly, but without compromise to the business and keeping communication across the front and back of house seamless and continuous.
Food Safe Certificate is essential. Post high school education, previous inventory control, and supervisory skills is an asset.
