A little bit about the founder (me):
My Name is Shane Martz and I have spent 5 out of the past 10 years in Whistler – originally hailing from Toronto. I have seen the problems employers have recruiting in ski towns and wanted to build something to help.
The mission of Ski Resort Jobs is to provide employers in ski towns with a tool to advertise their jobs online not only to the local job market but also to all other ski towns, so they can reach qualified candidates around the world. This will help with the under-staffing issues that plague many ski towns and their employers.
For job seekers, Ski Resort Jobs will provide easy access to all available jobs in ski towns, and as a 100% free tool will allow anyone to apply for these jobs whether they are ski town locals or about to depart on a working holiday.
In addition to building Ski Resort Jobs, I am an avid skier in Whistler with the goal to ski at least 100 days every winter. I also like to jump off big cliffs!
Previously, I spent 4 years in Australia and created and launched an app called iBackpacker there which helps backpackers and travellers find jobs. It has become the #1 app for backpacker jobs there and I continue to run the business. You can read about it here:
