Maitre d’/Restaurant Manager Full Time

Are you planning to come to Wanaka? The Cardrona Hotel is looking for a professional/career Maitre d’/Restaurant Manager to join our team.

We are one of New Zealand’s oldest and most iconic hotels, situated in the beautiful Cardrona Valley halfway between Wanaka and Queenstown.

You will oversee our award-winning restaurant be hands-on involved in our day-to-day operations and dinner service, which means taking the role of a Maitre d’, running food, and organising other wait staff. Our busy hotel hosts many functions, events, and weddings this summer, which means lots of variety to keep you on your toes!

We are looking for a reliable and proactive candidate who has an eye for detail, strong communication skills and is highly customer service oriented. At least 1 year of experience in a busy restaurant is required.

Other duties and responsibilities include:

–          Provide professional, efficient, and courteous service to customers

–          Maintain our award-winning hospitality reputation

–          Develop a professional and cooperative relationship with the kitchen team and our functions manager

–          Maintain a high level of morale and team cooperation

–          Train new staff

–          Run food, clear tables, and help where needed

This role is rostered full-time on the floor (NOT in the office!), 35+ hours per week with an immediate start. We require a minimum commitment until the end of the upcoming summer season/until after Easter 2024.

We have staff accommodation available.

A valid work visa must be held by any potential staff. Sponsorship may be available to the right candidate.

Wages: $27-$30 depending on experience
