Quick on your feet, you are able to jump from role to role to ensure our guest’s needs are met at all times. Whether welcoming our guests with a helping hand, ensuring hotel patrons are ready for a great day on the slopes, organizing an afternoon full of local adventure, you ensure everyone at The Josie is truly taken care of.

Your attention to detail ensures that guests are recognized, and your strong knowledge of the area means that you are able to provide personal recommendations to help make each stay unforgettable. Knowledge of locale is an asset, but if you are new to the area, then a keen desire to do some exploring on your own is a must!

The Guest Services Attendant position is a fast-paced, dynamic role that regularly rotates through the following functions:
• Bellperson – Ensure each guest is welcomed, provided assistance with luggage, and guided to the Front Desk in a professional, timely manner.
• Valet Attendant – Ensure guest vehicles are properly parked and retrieved from the valet lot.
• Concierge – Provide personalized recommendations for hotel services, local events & activities, dining options, transportation, and more.
• Ski Valet – Ensure our guests are ready for a day on the slopes! Receive, store, and prepare guest ski items, and provide insight on mountain conditions, weather, and ski trails.
Responsibilities Include:
Pay attention to details– Ensure each guest is welcomed, provide assistance with luggage, and guide to the Front Desk in a timely manner. Takes note of where guests are arriving from (luggage tags) and takes the opportunity to ask guests about their travels and use guest name wherever possible.
Ensuring Professional Service – Deliver a professional first impression to guests by offering a sincere, warm welcome, and superb personal service
Being a Team Player – Work positively alongside co-workers as a team player. Bring guest to front desk, advise colleague of guest name and where they are arriving from. Keep the conversation warm and sincere. We are not about formalities here at the Josie. But we always want to keep things sincere, YET Professional.
Setting Up Your Area for Success – Ensure the Guest Services area is kept tidy and well stocked with appropriate items and equipment. Maps of the area, be prepared to provide directions, recommendations and suggestions about what to do in the area.
Learn, Develop & Grow! – Participate in training opportunities to develop hotel knowledge, and further your career!

Job Requirements

MUST BE LEGALLY ABLE TO WORK IN CANADA
• A valid Driver’s License is required
• Sincere interest in ensuring our guests have the best possible experience here at The Josie and in Rossland
• Adventurous spirit – you are an explorer and you crave exhilaration
• LOVE sharing your own experiences in Rossland with our guests
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced hotel environment
• Strong communication skills
• Willingness to learn, develop & grow
• Superb focus and attention to detail
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry luggage items (up to 50 lbs), and push and pull a luggage cart

Hours vary based on business levels (from 18 up to 30 hours or more/week).
