Position: Culture Host
Reporting to: Event Coordinator
Hours: 4 hours per week approx 5-9pm, plus 6 additional paid training hours
Term: Casual, part time. Currently hiring for Friday evenings from July 16 – September 3
Remuneration: $18.00 per hour
Location: Whistler, British Columbia
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Conduct guided tours of the Museum’s Permanent Collection and Temporary Exhibitions
· Serve as hosts and provide a welcoming atmosphere to the Museum
· Assist in the delivery of engagement programs for the Museum
· Operation of Point of Sale system to sell membership and shop merchandise
· Assist in the delivery of a unique dining experience by providing access to the Museum
· Other duties as required
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
· Knowledge of BC art and artists is an asset
· Working knowledge of art museum methods and techniques
· Knowledge of the value and significance of art
· Experience in the service industry is an asset
· Outgoing, enthusiastic and willing to learn
QUALIFICATIONS & Requirements
· Experience or education in art, history or teaching is desirable
· Strong public speaking skills
· Strong computer skills and experience with Point of Sales systems
· Commitment to every Friday evening from July 16 – September 3 from approximately 5pm – 9pm
· Complete the training course as provided by the Director & Chief Curator before July 13, 2021
