Bow Valley Park Campgrounds is looking for someone who can adapt to an ever-changing, busy environment and utilize their skills and knowledge as an Automotive Technician/General Repair Person as well as assist our maintenance team with labour when needed. This position is for someone who likes problem solving and working independently and for an individual looking to advance their vehicle knowledge and
experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for our campgrounds fleet of 26 vehicles, 2 skid steers, pressure washers, lawn equipment, chainsaws, and general tools. This position is multi-faceted and involves regular maintenance and repair of all company vehicles and equipment, record keeping and inventory, parts procurement, general cleaning/organization of shop and inventory management of tools and equipment, campground repairs and servicing day use areas when needed. We have two heated bay garages with hydraulic lifts and all the tools one could need for any repair, as well as a welding bay, large compressor and carpenters bay. Any large mechanical issue will be sent away for further diagnosis and fixing after initial diagnosis.
When assisting the maintenance crew, you are responsible for the upkeep and cleaning of the park buildings and facilities, washroom cleaning, campsites cleaning, grass cutting, tree trimming, painting, wood chopping, deliveries and other related duties.
You are required to work independently and sometimes on a team when required. Outgoing, hardworking persons with strong communication skills are required. Must have a valid driver’s license, outdoor education and related certification (mechanics experience, chainsaw course, first aid etc.) would be an asset.
Required:
-2-5 years previous automotive service experience
-Highly organized with strong attention to detail
-Able to take direction and complete tasks as assigned
-Able to record service records, file, electronically enter into database
-Able to order parts online
-Willingness to learn
-Able to multitask and handle multiple priorities on a daily basis
-Able to work independently as well as part of a team
-Physically capable of lifting and moving items up to 50 lbs.
-Must be available to work full-time, 5 days a week overtime when required
Wages: $18/hr
