ROASTING SUPPORT
Your daily mission: Make sure our Roasting Operators have everything they need to roast the best coffee in the world, before they know they need it.

What Will You Do?
You will make sure your crew has everything they need to rock ‘n’ roast, baby! Working as a team, you will pull, move, stack, and load green coffee into the roasting hoppers for production. You will set up the roasting room, clean equipment, and provide coverage for other team members as needed. As the chauffeur to our beans, you will transport them between our roasting room and packaging machines. To get specific, this role will be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities
- Accurately calculate our green bean needs daily.
- Transport green beans from the inventory area to the staging room.
- Manually load green beans into roasting hoppers, ensuring precise recipe compliance.
- Safely operate a forklift to move product through the production facility.
- Work according to departmental checklists and standard operating procedures.
- Operate Rotary Batch Blender to create Post Roast Blends.
- Transport roasted beans from roasting to packaging, ensuring accurate labeling.
- Weigh and enter roasted coffee info into our ERP system accurately. Keep detailed records of various coffee country codes and lot codes.
- Participate in Roasting Department staff meetings, providing recommendations for continued efficiency in the roasting room setup.
- Daily cleaning of peripheral equipment including hoppers, pipes, de-stoners, bins, etc.
- Participate in preventative maintenance initiatives on roasting equipment.
- Actively participate in coffee cupping and participate in Quality Assurance initiatives.
- Provide Roasting Staging and Roaster relief coverage when required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in production, in a cleaning and staging role is ideal.
- Proven ability and desire to work cross-functionally to support all production departments.
- Possess a narrow forklift operator certificate or willingness to obtain.
- A foundational understanding of Coffee and Roast Blend Theory.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs and pull up to 160lbs.

Additional Information
- This is a full-time, seasonal position in our Roasting Department from March 15th to November 15th.
- We work eight hours a day, Monday to Friday. Shift times can fluctuate depending on production demand, which means that start times can vary between 6am and 2pm.
