Job Description: Red Wagon is looking for a fun and energetic individual to join our team. The selected candidate will gain experience and knowledge working with preschool age children as well as school age children. The position will follow the SD#19 school calendar working Monday thru Friday, excluding statutory holidays, winter break, spring break and Pro-D Days. The applicant must have their ECE or ECEA for this full-time position. Wage dependent on education and experience: $20.00-$26.00/hour.
Roles & Responsibilities:
· Ensure the health, safety and well-being of all children as outlined in the Red Wagon health, safety, and guidance policies.
· Work alongside Red Wagon Educators as part of a team
· Supervise children indoors and outdoors in a group setting while maintaining positive guidance strategies, meaningful relationships and engaging in fun and age appropriate activities with the children.
· Interact and create respectful relationships with staff, families and children.
· Prepare the classroom with age appropriate materials, games and toys.
· Daily record keeping including attendance.
· Daily clean up including sanitization of toys, equipment and high touch surfaces.
· Daily closing procedures including prepping for janitorial services and lock up routines.
Qualifications:
· Minimum Early Childhood Education Assistant Certificate or Early Childhood Education Certificate
· Experience working with children
· Effective and respectful communication skills
· Clear understanding and respect for confidentiality policies
· Display a genuine appreciation and respect for children and families
· Exude patience, flexibility and have a sense of humour!
· Responsible, mature, and trustworthy
