SUMMARY OF POSITION:

As an ambassador and representative of Concord Sundial Management Inc., the Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of cleanliness for the hotel by assisting in the supervision of the housekeeping operation. The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for conducting ongoing quality control inspections to maintain a high standard of cleanliness, while tracking and correcting the performance of the housekeeping staff. The Housekeeping Supervisor ensures the highest level of cleaning standards by monitoring inventory and the condition of furnishings, fixtures, appliances and dishware, and takes corrective action by addressing quality deficiencies and reporting maintenance and safety issues in a timely manner.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Guest Satisfaction:

Connects with the guest: Provides warm and courteous greeting to all guests and owners of Concord Sundial Management Inc. Greets guests by name whenever possible.
Assists the guest: Assists with luggage handling. Gives directions to guests. Addresses Concierge and Front Desk questions in absence of a Guest Service Representative. Handles requests made by guests using the meeting room and alerts Manager of any potential or current concerns immediately. Ensures luggage carts are picked up from guest room floors and returned to the lobby
Exceeds guest’s expectation: Ensures continued guest satisfaction through proactive determination of guest needs and implementing new services. Advises Housekeeping Manager of guest complaints to ensure guest needs are met.
Quality Assurance:

Conducts quality assurance inspections of all guest rooms prior to all guest arrivals.
Conducts quality assurance inspections of stayover services in occupied guest rooms.
Conducts inspections of departure rooms on carry over status for damages, missing items or extra cleaning costs.
Ensures all Room Attendants are meeting Concord Sundial Management’s cleaning standards.
Ensures productivity is maximized by assigning room attendants workloads that are in compliance with Concord Sundial Management’s expectations, while still maintaining Concord Sundial Management’s cleaning standards.
Ensure quality assurance is achieved by deducting time from room attendant if touch ups are required.
Responsible for the initial and ongoing training of all Room Attendants to maintain Concord Sundial Management’s cleaning standards.
Identifies areas of focus for improvement in guest rooms. Ensures these areas are communicated to the room attendants as housekeeping points of focus and projects.
Inspects the common areas at both the Sundial Boutique Hotel and the Carleton lodge on a daily basis.
Ensures all housekeeping service areas at both the Sundial Boutique Hotel and the Carleton lodge are tidy, organized and stocked.
Reports all maintenance issues to the maintenance department and follows up with outstanding repairs.
Takes corrective action where required to improve safety and cleanliness of work areas.
Coordinates daily operations with front office.
Operations, Administration and additional responsibilities:

Opening and closing of the housekeeping department. Daily
Coordinating and organizes daily workloads, tasks and duties for room attendants and housepersons.
Tracking of individual room attendant productivity. Daily.
Consolidating of individual room attendant productivity at the end of each, day, week and month.
Common area inspections. Daily.
Housekeeping area inspections at both the Sundial and Carleton Lodge. Weekly.
Coordinating projects for room attendants and housepersons. Daily.
Set up and quality control of all meeting space. As required.
Inventory of meeting room inventory and supplies. Monthly.
Job Requirements:

Demonstrated quality inspection or housekeeping experience in an upscale hotel.
Effective communication and administrative skills.
Able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects.
Extremely organized and detail oriented.
Able to work independently, is self-motivated, but is also a team player.
Exhibits a professional demeanor, attitude and appearance.
Highly alert, courteous and helpful when interacting with guests and colleagues.
A passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests.
Computer skills.
Physical Requirements:

Position entails bending, crouching, working on the knees, standing for long periods of time, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting and carrying up to 35 lbs. The Room Inspector must also be able to move quickly and function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
