The Vernon Golf and Country Club is excited to announce their search for a
Head Chef!

The City of Vernon, nestled in the North Okanagan, is surrounded by mountains, lakes,
orchards and vineyards. Vernon is a vibrant community with full amenities, great golf, great
skiing, and great people. The semi-arid climate makes for four distinct seasons all of which
make Vernon Canada’s destination playground.

The Vernon Golf and Country Club has deep roots in the community, in fact for over a
century. The classic, championship par 72 course plays longer than the 6609 yards that the
scorecard states. Towering Lombardi poplars and mature weeping willows have stood
guard over the beautiful parkland setting and witnessed many progressive changes over the
years. The golf club is owned by the members, is financially sound, and provides an allinclusive atmosphere for the competitive and social alike.

Working with the Food & Beverage Manager, the Head Chef is responsible for overseeing
the day-to-day culinary operations of the club. This is a senior management position
required to ensure the highest quality of food for members and guests. Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to preparing annual budgets and achieving those financial goals
throughout the year, through proper forecasting, cost controls and labor management. Food
safety guidelines and operational procedures are to be implemented and followed. Along
with the support of the Food & Beverage Manager, the Head Chef will coordinate the
ordering and monitoring of all food and kitchen wares and the engineering of all menu
items to maintain the proper contribution margin.

The Head Chef and Food & Beverage Manager are also responsible for hiring all kitchen
staff and their training/development through education and creative instruction. The Head
Chef must ensure standardization of recipes, portions and plate presentation for menus and
catered events to deliver a memorable and consistent dining experience for all members and
guests.

This opportunity is a year-round position.
Compensation package based on experience.
