We are looking for an Assistant Manager for our resort, which includes a year-round gourmet restaurant, over 40 acres of skiable terrain, a Tube Park, and two quad chairlifts in the winter and a 60-foot aerial adventure park, summer camps, and other outdoor adventures in the summer.

Working with the Manager, the Assistant Manager will be an integral part in helping to build unique, bold, and exciting experiences while implementing the resort’s Business and Destination Management Plan, while supporting the day-to-day operations of Kinosoo Ridge Resort, overseeing, and developing staff, programming, and budgeting while also ensuring an all-around incredible guest experience at the Resort.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Leadership

  • Work with Human Resource in recruitment, interviewing, orientation, staff training, performance evaluations, and discipline.
  • Coordinate staff for special functions, school programs, and daily operations.
  • Coordinate custodial duties and or contracts ensuring a clean well-maintained facility.
  • Support departments and staff with technical issues, guest complaints or any other concerns/issues.
  • Promote and nurture a fun, vibrant, and positive culture for all staff.

Communications & Collaboration

  • Coordinate with communications and the Manager to develop & carry out marketing strategies, social media messages, marketing content, and pictures.
  • In collaboration with the Manager and departmental staff, plan and carry out events as required.

Financial & Strategy

  • In collaboration with the Manager and departments, administer seasonal planning, development, goals, and procedures.
  • Assist with annual operating and capital budgets, maintain records of costs, payments to suppliers, inventory control, project, and asset tracking, monitor revenues, and modify procedures and prices.
  • Assist as back-up for purchasing, invoicing, and Mount OS.
  • ·onitor industry trends and consumer habits to anticipate demands and develop innovative ideas.

Guest Relations

  • Provide and present an exceptional guest experience to all patrons and assist and mediate guest complaints and or concerns in a positive and calm manner.

Overall Resort Operations

  • Administer and direct departments in operations and programming.
  • Conduct, review, and complete safety reports, accident reports, and daily safety sheets.
  • Administer contractor orientations as required.
  • Oversee administrative functions including ticketing, retail, payroll approvals, reports, employee files, daily cash reconciliation, inventory, and deposit.
  • Oversee security measures, monitor anti-theft procedures and policies, applying appropriate action when theft occurs.
  • Maintain professional and technical certifications continuing to remain abreast of current industry changes and innovations.
  • Fulfill the Managers responsibilities in their absence as required.
  • Perform other related duties as required within the scope of the position.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Marketing or Business and or equivalent education and or experience.
  • Minimum two years supervisory/managerial experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ski resort experience will be considered an asset.
  • Have a positive, charismatic, friendly personality.
  • Commit to exceeding guest expectations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, serve as a role model for others, work independently, adapt to change and be solution oriented.
  • Ability to remain composed when stressful and unexpected issues are encountered.
  • Advanced First aid and Ski Patrol training an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced consumer driven environment.
  • Efficient decision-making skills.
  • Stamina, flexibility, and self-discipline to work long hours as required.
  • Class 5 Drivers License.
