Operations Coordinator Full Time

The Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87 invites applications for a Kinosoo Operations Coordinator. The Kinosoo Operations Coordinator will support the Assistant Manager of Kinosoo Ridge Resort to guide and maintain the year-round hill operations for Kinosoo Ridge Resort maximizing the guest and employee experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Guide, train, and lead staff in year-round outdoor operations, layout, and programming, including but not limited to; lifts, features, swing, snowmaking, grooming, terrain & aerial parks, trails, and grounds maintenance.
  • Coordinate maintenance of the grounds and structures, maintaining a clean and aesthetically pleasing site.
  • Adhere to assembly, maintenance, and operating instructions as per manufacturer manuals and specifications, maintaining regular facility, and equipment inspection schedules.
  • Assist or conduct staff recruitment and performance reviews.
  • Coordinate the design, installation, and maintenance of safety and instructional signage.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and enhance the customer experience.
  • Supervise, train, and schedule operations staff.
  • Maintain all records as per related codes, legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Operate a variety of equipment including but not limited to; motor vehicles, snowmobiles, snowcats, tractors, skid steers, and ATVs in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Assist with planning and developing the progression of the resort.
  • Assist with lift, carpet, and aerial park maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with annual budgets and planning.
  • Assist with coordinating staff and contractors in completing operational and or capital projects, maintaining cost tracking documents and records.
  • Monitor industry trends and innovations in hill operations.
  • Maintain professional and technical certifications.
  • Promote and nurture a fun, vibrant, and positive culture.
  • Actively lead or assist in emergency and safety situations.
  • Ensure work area(s) are kept safe and clean, report any damage, malfunction, or misuse of any company equipment and/or property.
  • Work closely with ski patrol and other departments maintaining safety standards and assessing conditions.
  • Perform other related duties as required within the scope of the position.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years minimum supervisory and leadership experience.
  • 1-2 years experience with operation and maintenance of chairlifts, ropeways, and carpets.
  • Knowledge of the current CSA Z98 Code and OH&S regulations an asset.
    Facility knowledge and management experience of commercial building systems, maintenance, and troubleshooting an asset.
  • Experience with design, facility layout, and safety.
  • Project management experience.
  • Business acumen and a strong understanding of hospitality and guest experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft suite of programs.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision or in a team environment.
  • Advanced knowledge, aptitude, and experience in mechanical operations.
  • Experience with parks, protected areas, and outdoor facility management an asset.
  • Carpentry, electrical, welding, and landscaping experience an asset.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics and low voltage controls PLC electrical systems and components an asset.
  • Advanced First Aid & ski patrol training an asset.
  • Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license in good standing.
  • Provide a criminal record and vulnerable sector check.
