*Please note: Given the unprecedented nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently uncertain whether we will be opening our CMH lodge(s) for the winter season. We hope to be able to decide whether to open the lodge(s) the first week of November 2020. As such, any verbal or written offers of employment for the winter season will only be valid when/if we inform you of our intent to operate the lodge(s), including a need to fill this specific position. FUNCTIONAL SCOPE
The Registered Massage Therapist and/or Certified Spa Practitioner (RMT/CSP) is responsible for providing massage services to CMH guests, leading dynamic warm-up class each morning, and responsible for the daily upkeep of the spa area at the lodge. This person will work as part of a team and be highly organized, efficient and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
This is a seasonal job opportunity. The CMH winter season runs from late-November to late-April.
Rate of pay is based on a 10-hour day for guest exchange days, and a 5-hour day plus booked massage times on massage days.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Lead a comprehensive and dynamic 30-minute warm up class, which includes a variety of movement patterns, on all mornings apart from a guest exchange day
Take full ownership of the spa & fitness facilities inclusive of the massage rooms and executing daily and weekly cleaning duties related to these spaces
Prepare massage rooms and ensure a calm and inviting environment
Manage the guest massage schedule including charge entry for completed massages
Support the ski program by assisting with radio duty and rescue response
Assist the lodge team in the cleaning-up of meal services
Be actively involved in the cleaning of common spaces on exchange days to effectively prepare the lodge for incoming guests
Willing to assist with other lodge duties, as assigned. This type of work environment requires team players that work hard together to meet overall goals
Follow OH&S and WHMIS standards and demonstrate safe workplace practices
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 1000 hours of certified massage training with education documentation
Experience working in a remote lodge, preferred
Food Safe Certificate, preferred
A passion for skiing and the mountains
Excellent communication skills; able to receive and act on feedback
WORKING CONDITIONS
This job is in a remote area of the BC wilderness. Employees are required to find their own way to and from the lodge or helicopter staging area for work shifts.
This type of work setting is challenging and demanding. Successful staff are intrinsically motivated by a passion for massage experiences in the backcountry and creating memorable experiences with our guests.
Work Environment:
Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 20 pounds on an occasional basis
Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis
Able to work evenings, weekends and holidays based on the needs of the business
Able to work split shifts regularly
OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

COMPENSATION
A competitive* rate and massage commissions will be provided, as well as 4% vacation pay and potential opportunities to heli-ski, as available.
*CMH has revised the total compensation package for massage staff this season. Details will be provided in a personal interview.
