Whitewater Lodge is a cozy, ten room lodge on the edge of Golden B.C. Glacier Raft Company has been providing whitewater rafting trips on the Kicking Horse River since 1982. We are looking for a Food Manager who will make sure we have what we need for daily lodge breakfasts and rafting lunches, as well as other daily tasks.
Roles
Prepare buffet breakfast for lodge guests each morning
Chat with the lodge guests as they’re eating. Answer questions, provide recommendations for things to do in the area
Cleaning up after breakfast and food prep for the next day
Grocery shopping for the lodge and rafting company
Help de-rig from daily rafting trips
Water flowers, maintain flower beds
Other odd jobs as needed
Requirements
Must be comfortable in a kitchen setting – experience with cooking and baking
Must be able to work quietly – the lodge is small and sound travels in the morning as you’re preparing breakfast (guests will still be sleeping)
Attention to detail – everything must be clean and tidy, organized, nice presentation of breakfast etc.
Punctuality – breakfast has to be served each morning at 7:30, so getting here by 6:30 is critical
Reliability – summer is really busy and we need to trust you’ll be here everyday you’re scheduled
Positive personality – a friendly face to chat with the guests in the morning, being helpful and welcoming is really important
Working well with the other staff, being willing to help out
Food Safe, or willing to get it (can be taken online)
Must have a driver’s licence – you’ll take a company vehicle for groceries etc.
A full time position, so we’d be looking at:
5 days/week
6:30 a.m – 2:30 p.m. daily
$18/hour
Guaranteed full time from June 1 – September 30, some training starting in May
